10 Best Virtual Party Platforms & Softwares of 2024

1. Remo

Remo bids farewell to the traditional concept of video conferencing by revolutionizing virtual gatherings through its immersive, real-time interface. Designed to keep human interaction at its core, Remo provides a virtual event platform where interactive connections go far beyond the screen, allowing for natural conversations and authentic connections.

Whether for networking parties, social gatherings, or corporate meetings, Remo brings an in-person feel into the digital world. Now, let us explore the unique features that set Remo apart in the competitive landscape of virtual party platforms.

Remo Virtual Party Platform

Best Features

  • Table-based Networking: Each table acts as a mini breakout room, so guests can have smaller group private conversations. They are also free to move around the space and join/start conversations with others spontaneously, just like they would at an in-person gathering.
  • High-Quality Audio and Video: The platform has high-definition audio and video streaming capacity, which would ensure clear, uninterrupted communication among guests.
  • Floor Plans: Remo is a visual virtual conference platform, so when guests enter a space they see a virtual floor plan with tables and seats they can join. Thi not only gives a visual cue for easy navigation, but it also fully immerses your guests in an experience you’ve curated (not to mention, it’s far more interesting to look at!)
  • Shuffle Guests: In Conversation mode, you can randomly shuffle all guests onto new tables to meet new people and make new connections with just one click.
  • Exceptional Customer Support: Customer support is not an afterthought - we’ve got 24/5 live chat support and dedicated account managers to help you with every question and any issues you may face.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

What truly sets Remo apart is its overall approach to online networking with their conversation mode, designed to mimic the dynamics of in-person interactions. On Remo’s virtual solution, guests can join and move between virtual tables, where each table is a private audio-video conversation (essentially a breakout room but far more visual). This helps break up a larger crowd into smaller groups for more authentic conversations. Table sizes on Remo can go up to 50, but by default they’re between 6-15 people per table to keep groups small.Guests on Remo, unlike other platforms, are also free to move between these virtual tables and meet new people and have new conversations whenever they please. This helps bring that element of impromptu talks and discussions, making it feel more natural and easier to network with others. Best of all, Remo offers a far more visual experience for guests – instead of breakout rooms in black boxes, you’ve got a beautifully designed event space in the background (we’ll speak more on that below). Instead of clicking on a long list of breakout rooms, on Remo you can click directly on the table you wish to join. With Remo, interactions are far more organic leading to more meaningful relationships between guests.

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

The interface of Remo stands out for its simplicity, making it easy for party organizers and guests alike to use it. This simplicity adds tremendously to the user experience, ensuring that virtual parties are enjoyable and not stressful for guests. Remo's clean and uncluttered UI welcomes guests from all skill levels. Not to mention, it’s a browser-based platform, so no one has to download or install any functionality before the party - just type in the URL and guests are good to go!

Intuitive design means users can naturally navigate the platform without extensive guidance or tutorials. Remo embodies this concept by creating a platform or event space that replicates physical event spaces and human interaction. For example, at an in-person gathering, when you want to switch to another conversation, you simply walk up to another group of people. On Remo, with conversations happening at each virtual table, you simply click on another table to move there. This approach is intuitive, making the platform easier to adopt, and therefore will lead to increased interaction from guests.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

In addition to their authentic approach to networking, Remo also provides a lot of dedicated ways for hosts to interact with their guests. Like most platforms, they offer the tried and tested interactive tools, like polls, Q&A, and real-time reactions. However, they also have a variety of more innovative tools that party organizers, like yourself, may find useful to have at your disposal.

For example, on Remo, in addition to polls which primarily collect guest opinions, you can also run quizzes directly on the platform (no integrations necessary). With quizzes, you can add another level of interactivity (or should we say friendly competition) to your parties, from casual trivia to hard-hitting quiz competitions. Remo’s virtual party platform also comes with live sound effects for a proper immersive experience. When broadcasting to everyone at your virtual gathering, you can choose from a live round of applause, an anticipation-driving drumroll, or a burst of laughter. Not to mention, on Remo, you can even bring conversations to the main stage. Want to invite your CEO up for a quick speech at your corporate gathering? No problem. Want to bring up your best friend for a heart-warming toast at your social event? No trouble at all. With just a few clicks, you can invite any one of your guests to take the stage and start speaking to everyone at your event all at once. Plus, Remo even offers a multitude of ways to embed live games into your party experience for even more fun.

Not to mention, Remo also offers an extensive marketplace featuring a variety of entertainment service providers you can contact for your upcoming event. To make sourcing a little easier, we’ve listed a variety of providers, from online magicians to virtual treasure hunts, if you’ve got some budget to spare it’s definitely worth taking a look!

  • Customization and Branding Options

Remo provides the tools to create a fully personalized event experience, making each gathering not just a party but a statement. Customization options vary from small branding opportunities to larger design capabilities, so you can pick the level of customization you want for your virtual party.

Particularly for corporate or community gatherings, you can set up your event space to match your brand identity exactly. For example, you can add your logo throughout the space to reinforce brand visibility. With Remo, you can even white label the platform so only your brand shines. Or, alternatively you can keep it simple and just integrate your brand’s color scheme across the different tables. This gives your party a familiar and comfortable feel for anyone who knows and resonates with your company or community.

But, that’s not all! With Remo, you can even take it further by customizing the entire virtual party space. You can choose from the 80+ premade floor plans Remo offers or design a completely custom space. This level of customization does more than just help boost the visual appeal; it also sets the tone for your virtual gathering. Imagine a social event held on a beach in Hawaii, or a corporate happy hour held at a modern rooftop bar. With custom floor plans, your imagination is really the only limit.

  • Scalability and Performance

Remo’s virtual party platform can be scaled up without compromising performance or reliability. Whether it's a small meetup or a large gathering, Remo has you covered with smooth A/V and fast interactions. In other words, this scalability ensures that every event runs smoothly, regardless of the number of guests. Remo supports up to 1000 guests per event space, but for larger parties, you can also link multiple spaces together for even more fun.

Pricing

Remo offers a variety of simple pricing plans to provide great value at a reasonable price. Unlike other platforms, most features are actually available on all pricing plans to ensure you get the most value out of the online platform. Instead it opts to vary its pricing plans by subscription type (one-time, recurring, or enterprise), number of expected attendees (not registrations!), and event duration.

Starting at $380 for 200 attendees, Remo tries to keep pricing flexible to fit your budget. That’s why in order to get a price quote, we ask you to book a 1-1 demo with our team so we can better understand your event needs and tailor a plan that works for you and your budget.

2. Hopin (now RingCentral)

Hopin takes virtual events to the next level, offering an experience that mirrors in-person gatherings. Its robust platform caters to various party or gathering types, making it an excellent choice for organizers aiming for seamless execution. Back in 2023, Hopin was acquired by RingCentral, an enterprise-level communications platform. Check out our detailed Hopin review here!

Hopin (now RingCentral) Online Platform

Best Features

  • 1-1 Networking: RingCentral has a networking module which allows guests to connect 1-1 with other guests. They even offer guests a list of guests with similar interests/backgrounds (based on each user’s attendee profile)
  • Studio by Streamyard: RingCentral Studio is powered by Streamyard, which helps organizers put together professional-grade presentations or speeches, complete with overlays, banners, and more.
  • AI-Powered Marketing: On RingCentral, organizers can use their AI helper to craft social media posts, invites, and descriptions for their virtual party

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

RingCentral is an efficient event management platform, offering a comprehensive solution for organizers. The platform offers a range of features to allow organizers to plan and run their virtual party however they want. However, with all those features do come a steep learning curve when initially using the platform. Past customers have noted with so many features available, it can make event set up a little more complicated on the host side.

That being said, as a guest, RingCentral’s virtual party platform itself is relatively easy to navigate. With a clearly labeled menu bar on the left, guests are able to jump between sessions as they please without too much confusion. It’s important to note though that organizers have commented that RingCentral’s registration experience is fairly complicated for the average guest. So, if you do need a straightforward registration process in place for your upcoming virtual soiree, RingCentral may not be the right option for you.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

RingCentral does offer some networking features, but in comparison to other platforms the options are quite limited and rigid. They offer two main types of networking - “Networking”, which is 1-1 paired networking only, and “Sessions”, which function very similarly to Zoom breakout rooms.

With their Networking module, guests are shown a list of other guests and you can simply select someone and invite them to a private conversation. While this may be perfect for speed dating-like parties, it may not be right for all kinds of gatherings. Their Sessions module in comparison, does offer larger groups for conversation but is not very versatile. Everyone is randomly split into equally sized groups and forced to speak with whoever else is in the same group. So, while both modules offer a networking experience, it’s not nearly as natural as other platforms, like Remo, offer.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

RingCentral offers a solid set of interactive features, from live polls to Q&A sessions. They also provide a chat function, so guests can chat with everyone in the space for more active participation. Guests are even encouraged to use RingCentral’s live reaction emojis during presentations to create a more dynamic and engaging event atmosphere.

Most of these interactive features though are centered around their Main Stage module (where you can make presentations to all guests at once). So, if your virtual party features a series of talks or speeches, RingCentral has a variety of ways you can foster interaction and engagement with guests.

  • Customization and Branding Options

RingCentral offers some pretty neat customization options for organizers to make their parties feel like their own. They offer the standard customization options like adding a logo, changing color, customizing the registration page (within a set template), and more. Within the Main Stage presentations, organizers can even customize how the presentations look and feel with customizable overlays and banners. However, it’s important to check the pricing plans properly before purchasing, as some of these customization abilities are only available on the higher tier plans.

  • Scalability and Performance

The scalability of RingCentral is evident in its ability to support thousands of guests simultaneously in a single space. This makes it an ideal platform for very large gatherings (1000+ guests). It achieves this through robust infrastructure and cloud services that manage real-time interactions without lag, crucial for a seamless user experience.

Pricing

Hopin, now under RingCentral, offers various pricing options, but only on an annual contract. So, we recommend testing the platform out fully before committing to a RingCentral plan. As a result of the acquisition though, RingCentral removed Hopin’s free plan option, so now plans start from max. 100 attendees for $750. They do display their pricing for up to 1000 attendees, for larger attendee limits you’ll need to contact their team for a quote.

3. Airmeet

Airmeet has quickly become a key player in the virtual party platform space, known for its emphasis on creating authentic and meaningful engagement among participants just as Remo does. More than just a virtual party platform, Airmeet is also tailored for a wide array of events such as conferences, fairs, and networking. Check out our comprehensive Airmeet review of their online platform here!

Airmeet Virtual Software

Best Features

  • Fluid Spaces: To mimic the more spontaneous nature of networking at parties, Airmeet’s “Fluid Space” seems a fairly good solution. It offers guests a very unstructured space they can move around in and strike up conversations with those nearest to them.
  • Leaderboard: Encourage participation and friendly competition by giving guests points for each interactive action they do (like submitting a question or sending a chat message).
  • Bring Guests Onto Stage: While in the main stage area, organizers can promote guests onto stage so they can present to everyone spontaneously, like Remo.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Airmeet offers a user-friendly interface, ensuring a straightforward setup process for party organizers. The platform’s clean design makes it accessible to many guest, no matter how tech-savvy they may be. Like Remo, Airmeet also tries to simulate real-world interactions, like table movement, but opts for a less visually dynamic space in comparison. However, it should be noted that on the organizers side, the platform is far less intuitive. Airmeet does an excellent job at building new features, but this does in turn mean there is an abundance of options and settings organizers have to go through in order to set up even a basic event space. So, if you do decide to go with Airmeet, make sure you do block some time to really learn the platform first and all it can offer. They also do a free trial though, so you can explore their platform yourself first.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

Similar to Remo, Airmeet also follows a virtual table concept, where each table or group functions as a mini breakout room and for the most part guests can move between the tables as they please. On Airmeet though, there are several networking options available: Fluid Spaces, Social Lounge, Breakout Rooms, Speed Networking, and Large Meeting Rooms. With so many options, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and figure out which specifically is right for your virtual party, especially when each can be quite similar in nature. For example, with breakout rooms guests can see a list of discussion-based rooms they can join, versus the social lounge which is also a series of breakout rooms but organized as tables instead of a list.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

Within Airmeet’s virtual party platform, they have also built in a series of engagement or interactive tools. Like RingCentral though, the majority of their interactive capabilities (except networking) resides within their Presentation Stage area. So, during presentations or speeches, as an organizer/speaker you can interact with your audience (guests) via live polls, Q&A, or reactions. They do also offer the ability to bring guests up onto stage as well, just like Remo, so you don’t have to worry about inviting your presenters or party speech givers as proper speakers in advance of the virtual gathering.

  • Customization and Branding Options

Whilst, Airmeet doesn’t have the concept of a floor plan or a fully customized virtual space, they do still offer organizers small chances for branding. They let you customize the colors of your event background and buttons as well as adding logos. Beyond those, you can also opt to customize the landing page for your virtual party within a set template by Airmeet.

  • Scalability and Performance

Airmeet excels in scalability and is capable of hosting parties of various sizes. Airmeet's infrastructure supports large audiences up to 10,000 guests. In case of issues, Airmeet also does offer 24/7 customer support on all plans, signifying a commitment to helping resolve issues if they do come up.

Pricing

Airmeet offers 3 pricing plans that differ based on event format:

  1. Webinar - more suited for webinars or in-person events
  2. Virtual Events - more suited for actual virtual events
  3. Fully Managed Event - this is a unique Airmeet solution, where you can opt for Airmeet to help with the set up and execution of your virtual gathering (starts from $1999 per event)

It’s important to note though that networking options in particular do differ based on plan. For example, on the webinars plan you can have up to 30 people per table versus on the events plan you can have up to 125 people.

They also offer a 10–day free trial for events up to 25 people so you can get a taste of the Airmeet experience before committing to a plan.

4. BigMarker

BigMarker is a leader in webinar hosting and virtual party solutions today. It combines powerful live video technology with a comprehensive suite of marketing tools to create interactive and engaging experiences. Designed for a wide range of uses, BigMarker's platform emphasizes connectivity, engagement, and scalability.

BigMarker Virtual Platform

Best Features

  • AI-Driven Networking: BigMarker collects information like interests and background from guests and uses that to recommend like-minded guests that you can choose to swipe “yes” or “no” on.
  • Customizable Emails: You can customize whatever email flow you want for your upcoming virtual party, ensuring you’ve got the right fit for your guests.
  • Custom Mobile App: Pair your virtual party with a customizable mobile app for guests for the ultimate flexibility and branded experience.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

BigMarker is known for its intuitive interface and ease of use, making it straightforward for party organizers to set up and manage parties. The platform offers clear navigation, which helps ensure a smooth experience. However, some users have noted a slight learning curve, especially when it comes to the advanced features. Like Remo, BigMarker is also a browser-based platform, so guests and organizers don’t need to download or install any software to organize or attend a gathering.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

This virtual platform, like others, recognizes the importance of networking at virtual parties. That’s why they offer a series of networking opportunities for guests to make those new connections. That being said, unlike other virtual platforms, BigMarker chose to make their networking more structured, favoring AI-driven matchmaking over spontaneous connections. To some, this matchmaking concept may be seen as preferable, given guests are matched based on interest so the resulting conversations may be more rich. However, others feel the spontaneity is what makes a virtual party fun, whilst suggested connections makes networking feel more forced or disingenuous. So, you can decide for yourself which side of the fence you’re on when it comes to networking. If you prefer the more structured matchmaking style, BigMarker could be the right solution for you, but if you are more for the impromptu style of networking, platforms like Remo may be better suited.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

BigMarker provides tools for interactivity, such as live polls, chat, and Q&A, enhancing overall audience engagement and interaction. If that’s not enough, they even support up to 64 presenters on stage at once for a really large on-stage discussion. To really boost interaction though, BigMarker offers a leaderboard to encourage guest participation. Event organizers can specify on the backend which actions should receive how many points. Whilst, guests can view their position on the leaderboard during the event, fostering a healthy sense of competition that could be just the thing to spice up your next virtual gathering.

  • Customization and Branding Options

Like other virtual platforms on this list, BigMarker too provides an extensive array of customization options to create a cohesive, personalized party experience. Starting with the registration page, BigMarker offers a series of templates organizers can start from or they can customize from scratch with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Going beyond the landing page, BigMarker also lets organizers brand the virtual space, guaranteeing a unique virtual party experience for guests. Even more than that, BigMarker offers a fully customizable mobile app as well. While guests are free to attend on a browser alone, they can also choose to download a fully branded and customized partner mobile app.

  • Scalability and Performance

BigMarker is designed for scalability, catering to virtual parties and gatherings of different sizes. The platform supports both small and large parties, but BigMarker’s more catered towards the larger events, with a maximum capacity of up to 500,000 guests. However, in providing the ability to host so many guests at once, they also take measures to ensure performance remains consistent at events of that scale.

Pricing

BigMarker offers several packages for virtual, hybrid, and in-person parties. Their Virtual Venue option has three main licenses: Single-party License, Multi-party License, and Unlimited party License. Pricing specifics are not listed directly on their webpage, but you can expect with a platform like this that the price tag can also get quite large. For more details on exact pricing though, you do need to reach out to BigMarker’s sales team for a quote.

5. Webex

Webex by Cisco is renowned for its comprehensive tool suite that facilitates seamless communication and collaboration across businesses. Offering more than just virtual meetings, Webex extends its capabilities to webinars, large-scale parties, and learning sessions, emphasizing security, reliability, and ease of use.

Webex Online Software

Best Features

  • Focus on Security and Compliance: With robust security measures and certifications, Webex gives organizers and participants peace of mind, knowing their data and communications are secure, making it ideal for sensitive or regulated corporate gatherings.
  • Customizable Mobile App: Create a fully branded and customized mobile app for guests to use when joining your event without any technical knowledge necessary.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Webex is known for its intuitive user interface, facilitating seamless meeting setup and management and making it accessible to all skill levels. The platform supports easy navigation for both guests and organizers alike.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

In comparison to other virtual platforms, Webex offers a more simple approach to networking with basic functionality. Their virtual party platform offers features like virtual business cards (user profiles), video networking rooms (breakout rooms), as well as 1-1 direct messaging. Like RingCentral though, the networking functionality is pretty basic, replicating the typical Zoom experience you’d find at any other virtual gathering.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

Webex enhances user collaboration through various engaging features. It includes live polling, dynamic Q&A sessions, and gamification elements. These tools are designed to improve interaction and focus during gatherings, ensuring a more productive and engaging virtual experience.

  • Customization and Branding Options

Webex allows extensive customization options for meeting environments on their mobile app. This enables users to integrate their brand and personalize the user experience. This customization capability supports creating tailored virtual spaces that align with corporate branding or individual preferences. Organizers can customize everything about the mobile app, from its navigation layout to splash pages.

  • Scalability and Performance

Webex is well-suited for large-scale parties, offering robust features enabling efficient webinars and extensive party hosting. This scalability ensures that Webex can accommodate various party sizes, from small team gatherings to large enterprise conferences (10,000+ guests). They ensure high-quality audio and video performance, supported by Cisco's robust infrastructure.

Pricing

Webex only offers the one subscription for virtual events (they also do have a webinar-specific plan, but this subscription doesn’t include vital features like networking capabilities). They don’t offer a starting price, but you can use their Webinar tier pricing as a reference point, which is $275 per license per month for up to 1000 guests. Judging from the features available on the Virtual Event plan versus the Webinar, it seems safe to assume their Virtual Event tier will be priced higher. For an accurate quote though, you will need to speak with a member of the Webex sales team.

6. Gather Town

Gather Town is widely recognized for its novel Sims-like approach to virtual gatherings and events. Emphasizing collaboration, customization, and an engaging experience, Gather Town aims to make virtual events fun for guests again. Instead of throwing everyone into a virtual black box with some videos, they focus on creating a game-like experience that brings back childhood memories.

Gather Town Virtual Platform

Best Features

  • Map Builder: You can create your own virtual world with drag-and-drop elements from their library
  • Avatars: Gather brings a whole new concept of avatars – guests can dress up their avatars however they like from clothing to accessories
  • Embedded Games: For some added fun, Gather has a small selection of games you can embed into your events, like Tetris or GoKart racing

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Gather Town is celebrated for its user-friendly interface, especially when it comes to the guest experience. The whole concept of Gather Town, like Remo, draws on familiar interactions to make it easy to pick up for guests. But, whilst Remo focuses on replicating real-life human interactions, Gather Town instead mimics more of a Game Boy or Sims-like experience. For some, especially those familiar with video games or online gaming, this can be a truly fun experience, but for others, who may be less tech-savvy, may find the initial learning curve difficult to grasp. On the organizer’s side, their event setup is pretty straight-forward, but you do need to look around a bit to find the features you need, as some are only available within Event Settings, while others are only available in the actual virtual space.

In terms of accessibility, Gather Town has both a downloadable app (desktop and mobile) as well as a browser version. However, they do recommend users to download their application instead, especially if on a mobile, as their browser version has some limitations. For example, only Google Chrome is currently supported. They also do not offer a compatibility test for a user to check their gear ahead of time, which could cause issues if they end up trying to join on an unsupported device/browser.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

Like Remo, Gather Town also opts for the virtual table style networking with a visually dynamic floor plan behind it. So, on Gather, guests can walk their avatar around the virtual space and join a table to engage in a conversation with those currently on it. The whole idea of Gather, and similar platforms, is to recreate the concept of spontaneous or water cooler type of conversations authentically in a digital environment.

Whilst, Gather Town was originally created as a virtual office, some organizers also opt to use it for corporate social events like happy hours or team building because it lets guests move around freely and socialize with the people they want to talk to. Not to mention, the virtual environment just adds a much more dynamic and fun feel to networking, so you even feel more relaxed as a guest. However, as we’ll explore below, with the numerous other elements Gather Town provides, like embedded games, guests may very well get distracted from actually networking and engaging in meaningful conversation with one another.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

Beyond their networking capabilities, Gather Town offers a few interactive tools to help drive engagement and participation. Of course their most notable one is embedded games. With this feature, hosts can choose from a small selection of curated online games they can embed directly into the Gather Town event environment. Guests can then join dedicated spaces to engage in these games with other guests. Beyond this though, Gather Town only provides a few of the more traditional engagement tools like live chat and real-time reactions. So, if you’re looking for a platform that does both networking and presentations/speeches well, Gather Town may not be the ideal platform for you.

  • Customization and Branding Options

Gather Town allows for significant customization, enabling organizers to tailor the look and feel of their entire virtual space. Like on Remo, organizers can build an immersive virtual space with the specific rooms and sizes they need, as well as designing the aesthetics of the space. With the help of Gather Town’s map maker though, the customization process is also incredibly simple for even non-designers.

Moving beyond just the virtual space, Gather Town also lets guests customize their own avatars too. Like in Sims or online video games, Gather Town brings that familiar feeling of dressing up your avatar. Guests can choose the style of avatar, the clothes they wear, even add little accessories like a bubble tea! With Gather Town’s avatars, guests can really express themselves and their personality.

  • Scalability and Performance

Since Gather Town’s platform works off a customizable floor plan, the platform can take up a lot of processing power in comparison to other platforms on this list. Past customers, as well as Gather Town themselves, have noted that with internet speeds of less than 10Mbps your video call quality and speed can suffer. It also takes up a lot of processing power, causing issues with battery life, especially when accessing through a mobile device. Customers have also noted that at times the platform can be glitchy or of poor quality, especially when you start getting to larger conversations (20+ people). In terms of scalability, Gather Town only supports up to 500 attendees per space on their higher tiers, which is considerably less than other platforms can scale up to. So, for larger parties in particular Gather Town may not be the right platform for you.

Pricing

Given that Gather Town originally started as a virtual office software, they charge per user as opposed to a flat rate per tier, which is what other online platforms tend to go for. They currently offers 3 tiers:

  1. A free plan, for up to 10 users
  2. A premium plan, $7/per user (note this plan doesn’t offer dedicated support)
  3. An enterprise plan with custom billing

With their free plan, you can give the platform a quick test run before committing to help evaluate whether its range of features match your upcoming virtual party requirements. Please note, none of their tiers offer registration capabilities if that is important for you.

7. Swoogo

Swoogo is distinguished by its user-friendly event management software, designed to simplify the creation, execution, and tracking of both virtual and in-person parties. Tailored for event organizers seeking efficiency and effectiveness in their planning processes, Swoogo emphasizes ease of use, flexibility, and robust analytics. Check out our detailed Swoogo review of their online solution here!

Swoogo Virtual Software

Best Features

  • Customized Registration: Craft the registration process of your dreams with a fully customizable landing page to registration questions to even registration timings, you can tailor the registration process for your guests.
  • Customizable Reports: With Swoogo, you can customize the reports generated post-event and shared with other team members. This way you only focus on the reporting that truly matters to you
  • Integrations: Swoogo boasts an incredible 30+ number of integrations available, so you can connect Swoogo to your preferred tools.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Swoogo is praised for its user-friendly interface that facilitates event setup and data analysis for event organizers. However, when it comes to the more advanced settings of an event, like its customization capabilities, the platform presents a much steeper learning curve compared to other platforms like Remo. So, if you do plan to use Swoogo’s more advanced functionality, be sure to block some time out just to learn everything before you start setting up for your actual virtual gathering.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

When it comes to networking on Swoogo, the experience is very structured and rigid, in comparison to other virtual party platforms. The majority of Swoogo’s platform focuses on features to help you market your virtual party the best way, so less focus is on the actual in-event networking experience guests have. That being said, guests on Swoogo are able to view a list of participants and instantly book meetings or invite others to a 1-1 video chat. They also offer chat for text-based communication between guests as well.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

While focusing on the administrative side of event management, Swoogo also doesn’t have the most extensive set of engagement features as other platforms on this list have. In fact, they actually integrate with other virtual event platforms or video hosting providers to offer engagement features, like live video presentations, polls, and Q&A. These are basic interactive tools to help drive attendee participation throughout the event. In comparison, because of its importance, most virtual event platforms, like Remo, choose to build these features in-house. This simplifies setup, as you don’t need to work to integrate the 2 softwares and you only need the 1 account. Not to mention, it also becomes much easier if you want to analyze your attendees engagement data.

  • Customization and Branding Options

On the other hand, Swoogo allows for one of the most extensive customization capabilities possible, which is why it deserved a spot on this list of best virtual party platforms. Swoogo allows you to customize just about everything about your virtual gathering – from the registration questions to the marketing communication, and even the reports you get post-event. With this platform, you can truly make your virtual party your own and guarantee it’ll stand out from all the rest of the virtual events out there.

  • Scalability and Performance

Catering to events of all sizes, from small meetups to large gatherings, Swoogo’s scalable solution adapts to varying size needs. The platform also guarantees at even large guest numbers, guests still have a consistent and high-quality experience. Like Remo, Swoogo also prides itself on superb customer service, with a dedicated support team that goes above and beyond to help customers answer questions and make the best use of all Swoogo has to offer.

Pricing

Swoogo believes in clear, transparent pricing so you can easily find what tiers and price points you can expect if you choose to go with their virtual party solution. Like Remo, they try to keep pricing simple by offering as many features as possible on all tiers. According to their pricing table, the only clear difference between the tiers is the number of event organizers on the license:

  • One: $11,800/year for 1 event organizer
  • Three: $16,500/year for 3 event organizers
  • Five: $26,000/year for 5 event organizers
  • Enterprise: Custom quote

As you can tell the price jump between tiers is significant, especially if the only difference is the number of event organizers available.

It is also important to note that Swoogo only offers annual licenses, unlike Remo which also offers one-time and quarterly options, so be sure to fully check out the platform before making your final choice.

8. Hubilo

Hubilo's platform is a beacon of innovation in the virtual party industry. It offers many features to maximize engagement, facilitate networking, and ensure memorable party experiences. Catering to a diverse range of party types, Hubilo is engineered to meet the evolving needs of today's digital-first world.

Hubilo Online Platform

Best Features

  • Snackable Content Hub: AI-generated post-party content so you don’t have to spend hours repurposing content from your party into social posts or clips.
  • 1-Click Login: Hubilo offers direct access for guests into the virtual space with specialized guest links sent via email
  • Customizable Landing Page Builder: You can build the landing page of your dreams without a single line of code to boost registrations for your virtual party

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Hubilo is generally considered user-friendly, with an interface designed for straightforward navigation. The platform provides an intuitive dashboard for party organizers, facilitating easy setup and customization. However, some users have reported occasional difficulty with certain features. Remo, by contrast, excels in ease of use due to its intuitive table-based design, which offers a simple and natural navigation experience for both organizers and attendees.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

In comparison to other virtual party platforms on this list, Hubilo does not have as many robust networking capabilities. Their networking lounge tries to follow the popular virtual table concept, as other platforms, like Remo do. However, the visual appeal of the networking lounge falls short in contrast to the rest of Hubilo’s virtual platform. With a few 2D images of couches and customizable room names, Hubilo doesn’t offer too much in the name of networking for guests.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

Hubilo’s general focus remains more on webinars and lead generation. So, their version of a main stage or virtual stage comes laden with a suite of interactive tools for organizers to use. Hubilo’s platform offers chances for organizers or speakers to interact with their audience/guests while presenting. They do this through live polls, Q&A, chats, and real-time reactions. When comparing this to other virtual party platforms on this list though, you can tell most other platforms offer the same set of features. Not to mention, they don’t have a robust networking capacity within their event spaces.

  • Customization and Branding Options

Where they may lack in networking, Hubilo certainly makes up for in their extensive customization capabilities. From visual customizations, like color and logo, to feature customizations, like registration questions and profiles, Hubilo offers one of the most customizable virtual solutions. While it doesn’t go as far as Remo in terms of visual appeal or a themed environment, you can definitely still make your virtual party your own when using Hubilo.

  • Scalability and Performance

Hubilo is scalable, catering to virtual gatherings of various sizes. The platform is designed to accommodate both small and large parties, although some users have reported occasional performance and support issues when it comes to the larger events. So, if you are planning a larger virtual party, you may want to ask Hubilo about recent capacity or load tests conducted to measure their performance at a larger scale.

Pricing

Hubilo offers only 2 pricing plans, which is considerably less than other platforms. On the other hand, it does make their pricing incredibly simple. With their lowest tier starting from $10,000 per year, Hubilo is one of the most expensive virtual party platforms on this list. They do have an impressive array of features to back up their price, but it is a significant investment, so be sure to carefully consider their platform if you choose to go with Hubilo.

9. vFairs

vFairs is a leading virtual party platform known for its ability to create immersive and interactive virtual experiences that mimic physical parties. Specializing in virtual parties, fairs, and conferences, vFairs offers a rich suite of features designed to engage participants and deliver measurable results for organizers.

vFairs Online Software

Best Features

  • 3D Virtual Environments: vFairs stands out with its highly customizable 3D environments that replicate the look and feel of physical venues.
  • Photobooth: Set up a virtual photobooth for guests to capture fun pictures and add it to a shareable event-wide gallery.
  • Contact Exchange: Guests can exchange contact information or their virtual business cards with one another through a simple QR code scan.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

vFairs is known for its comprehensive approach, offering a user-friendly dashboard and intuitive setup process for event organizers. It caters especially well to those organizing large-scale events who may not be as tech-savvy.

Like Remo, it also features a map-based event interface for guests. However, on vFairs, these maps are usually more 3D and as a guest you appear as a human avatar walking through the space. This Sims-like approach, offers a human touch to the virtual gathering, but can also be jarring to get used to for a new guest on vFairs. It is also important to note that navigation on vFairs can be slightly difficult, as each section of the event is placed in a different “room” that guests need to locate from the lobby themselves. This is slightly more difficult to navigate compared to having the entire event space visible on screen, as Remo does.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

This virtual party platform offers a good selection of networking features available for guests to socialize with one another. It includes tools, such as chat rooms, video networking, and business card exchange features. All of which make it easy for attendees to connect with each other and build meaningful relationships. However, the concept of table-style networking for spontaneous and small group interactions is not as prevalent with vFairs, as a result of their immersive 3D environment. The environment serves more as aesthetic appeal rather than as a  functional purpose to enhance authentic networking, like Remo’s does.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

While they may not help much with authentic networking, the 3D environments vFairs provides definitely enhance attendee engagement by creating a dynamic event experience. When guests enter a space like this, they are immediately captivated by their virtual surroundings effectively hooking them into the virtual event.

Even without the 3D environment, vFairs offers an impressive array of engagement tools for organizers. More than just polls and chat, vFairs goes beyond with innovative features like virtual photo booths, scavenger hunts, and even a social media wall. These elements are a perfect fit to help an organizer create a fun and enjoyable party experience for guests. They also, like Airmeet, offer a leaderboard to instill a healthy sense of competition in guests on the virtual platform.

  • Customization and Branding Options

As mentioned, vFairs features visually dynamic virtual environments, but these unlike Remo are not fully customizable. As an organizer, you can select the rooms your event space will feature, like a lobby, exhibit hall, lounge, and so on. Within each room, vFairs lets you select a 3D floor plan from their collection of pre-made templates.

That being said, they do offer other ways for you to customize your virtual party space, such as the virtual booths. While these are primarily used for sponsor interactions, you could repurpose them into focused group discussions. With their custom domain option, you can even host your virtual party on your own URL for the ultimate cohesive brand experience.

  • Scalability and Performance

vFairs was built more for large-scale events with thousands of participants (their lowest license is for 1000 participants). Its platform is built to handle extensive attendee lists without sacrificing performance. On vFairs, you can host virtual parties with up to 5000 participants (depending on which tier you go for).

Pricing

vFairs generally offers a range of pricing tiers based on the scale and complexity of the event, which can be on the higher side as their pricing starts for quite large events already. In terms of licenses, vFairs, like Remo, offers options for both annual subscriptions and one-time events, so you can choose your subscription term.

For their annual licenses, please note their plans do differ in terms of both feature limits and features offered, so be sure to review their tiers in detail. For their one-time events, they break up their platform and charge per “product” (e.g. registration capabilities are charged separately from their core event platform). This could be great, if you don’t have the need for these related products, but if you do, it could easily add up.

For accurate quotes, vFairs requires you to contact their Sales teams first to discuss your virtual event needs.

10. Accelevents

Accelevents is a robust virtual party platform designed to deliver a full suite of tools for party organizers aiming to create immersive and interactive virtual and hybrid parties. Known for its scalability and ease of use, Accelevents facilitates everything from small meetups to large-scale gatherings, offering features that enhance attendee engagement and streamline your event management.

Accelevents Virtual Platform

Best Features

  • Challenges: Organizers can set up virtual challenges for their guests. These can be simple point rewards for completing in-event actions, or full-fledged competitions like trivia or a scavenger hunt.
  • AI-Driven Matchmaking: Using information collected on each guest, Accelevents will use an AI algorithm to suggest potential guest connections.
  • Customer Support: Several past customers noted their favorite part of Accelevents was their customer support team. Apart from being helpful, the support team was applauded for their fast service and commitment to solving issues and questions.

Comparison to Key Factors

  • Ease of Use/Accessibility

Accelevents boasts a straightforward setup process, allowing organizers to quickly create and launch events. The platform's dashboard is logically organized, making it easy to access various features and manage events without prior technical knowledge.

Also, Accelevents offers both a browser-based as well as an app experience for guests, so they can choose which they prefer. However, it’s important to note that the app version is far more limited than the browser version. For example, while on the app, guests cannot join any session other than the main presentation stage or even video chat with other guests.

  • Authentic Networking Opportunities

Accelevents features a solid set of networking solutions like breakout rooms, virtual lounges, and meeting schedulers. However, like other virtual platforms, breakout rooms and lounges are organized by a simple list of rooms a guest can join. The networking experience feels far more technical without a visually appealing interface, like Remo or Gather Town offer.

One of their standout networking features though is their Ai-driven matchmaking. Instead of encouraging impromptu conversations, Accelevents skips ahead by analyzing guest data to curate a list of suggested connections for each guest. Depending on each guest's personality, this may be a great way to break the ice, or it could feel a little like forced networking, so be sure to think about your ideal guests’ preferences when deciding whether to go with Accelevents’ virtual solution or not.

  • Engaging and Interactive Features

The platform is equipped with all the standard interactive tools such as live polling, Q&A sessions, and chat options, which help drive guest engagement. Beyond that, they also offer more innovative elements, like gamification or push notifications. With their gamification, organizers can set up challenges for guests to participate in for a fun and competitive edge to your virtual party. Event organizers can also create and send out push notifications to guests to capture their attention and announce when something important is happening, for example the main toast or live entertainment.

  • Customization and Branding Options

One of Accelevents' strong points is its deep customization capabilities. With their White Label Engterprise-only offering, organizers can fully rebrand Accelevents virtual platform as their own. From a fully branded event registration page to a customized mobile app, your brand will be in the spotlight. Don’t feel like splurging on enterprise access, not to worry, you can still enjoy Accelevent’s basic customization options. These include customized event landing pages and registration flows, to name a few.

  • Scalability and Performance

Accelevents handles events of all sizes well, though like vFairs it’s more suited for larger events (their starting tier is for 500 participants). At a maximum, Accelevents can support up to 10,000 simultaneous participants, though there have been mixed reviews about the stability of the platform. Some mentioned facing no issues, while others noted a significant lag when using their audio-video tech.  The platform offers tools to manage multiple concurrent sessions and tracks easily, ensuring a smooth experience as your event scales.

Pricing

The platform offers a range of pricing options to suit different event types and sizes. Pricing is generally based on the number of attendees and the features required, with packages that include essential tools as well as more advanced options. They offer both a one-time event plan as well as subscription-type plans for unlimited events, just like Remo. However, unlike Remo, their pricing is considerably higher:

  • Professional (one-time event plan): Starts from $5,000/event (up to 500 registrants)
  • Business (subscription plan): Starts from $12,000 (up to 2000 registrations)
  • Enterprise: Custom quote
  • White Label: Custom quote

The biggest point to note from their pricing though, is they charge by registrations (not attendees). With any virtual event or gathering, you know not everyone that registers will end up showing up. So, depending on your budget and expected attendance rate, with Accelevents you may wind up paying for empty seats.

Things to Look For in the Best Virtual Party Platforms

What is a Virtual Party Platform?

An online party is a gathering of individuals in one space to interact with one another online. It can be a professional event, like a corporate party or community meetup; or a social gathering between friends or family. Where this online party takes place, is usually in a virtual party platform.

A virtual party platform is a digital venue that helps you throw a gathering or meetup online. It uses technology, like live video, audio, chat, or interactive games, to bring the dynamic and interactive of an in-person party into the digital realm. Of course, with the added benefit that guests can attend from anywhere in the world!

Those technologies are also practical in design and are opening up a world of new party ideas to people from around the world. These platforms use the most advanced technology for hosts to create unique and engaging experiences never seen before. This extends the potential scope of what a party can be and connects diverse cultures and communities by making it easier to share and celebrate traditions and innovations worldwide.

Before you jump straight into deciding which platform is best for you – let’s first discuss the top 5 factors that make a “good” virtual party platform:

1. Authentic Networking Opportunities

A good virtual party platform makes it possible for people to connect, gather, and just have a good time together, no matter where they are. The biggest reason guests join gatherings like these is to socialize with others. So, if the virtual platform selected doesn’t encourage these opportunities or even worse doesn’t support smaller group networking, it won’t be much of a fun meetup.

When you’re evaluating virtual party solutions, be sure to check if the platform has some form of breakout room or networking features available. Breakout rooms are a great way to break up a large crowd into smaller groups for more genuine conversations. When’s the last time you were at a party talking to 100 other people at once? Now having breakout rooms or virtual tables is great, but the real pull of an in-person party is that you can strike up spontaneous conversations.

One of the biggest doubts about virtual event or party platforms is how to recreate the feeling of just being able to walk up to someone and start a conversation on the side. Well, it is possible, and we’ll give you a few examples in this article of platforms that do this. Some platforms today will just force guests into breakout rooms and call it a party, but the really good platforms will foster an authentic networking experience online. Like Remo, for example, this platform has virtual tables (breakout rooms), but they let guests freely move between these to mimic how people move around at an in-person gathering.

2. Ease of Use and Accessibility

The user experience begins the moment someone joins your virtual gathering. An easy interface can set up your event for success, while a poor/clunky one can turn guests away. Intuitive tools and features help simplify the interaction process between guests as well, as they can focus on connecting rather than figuring out how to turn on their camera.

It is also crucial for the virtual platform to be accessible across devices and on a browser without requiring downloads or super fast internet speeds. For example, Remo’s virtual platform is browser-based so there are no downloads/installs needed for guests or hosts. With Remo, guests also get a single link from registration to the actual event space, so it’s super simple to access and remember as well.

Nothing kills a party mood more than being stuck in a download or confused about where to click. That’s why the top virtual platforms value ease of use and accessibility, to ensure that all attendees can smoothly join and navigate the party, regardless of their technical know-how. Ease of use/accessibility is also an easy factor to check - most virtual platforms will offer some form of a free trial or demo, so you can physically try out the platform as a fresh new user and see how easy it is to use.

3. Engaging and Interactive Features

Like most events, engagement is the core of any successful virtual party. It’s essential to ensure your guests are enjoying themselves and remain active, especially when it comes to virtual events. In an online setting, there are far more distractions you have to compete with to win your guests’ attention, like the doorbell or that last email.

Remember “engagement” within virtual parties can come in many forms – it could be external entertainment, like party magicians or a live band; or, it can be simple activities, like trivia quizzes, to keep guests entertained. The best online party platforms will offer organizers a variety of features and services to engage their guests online. For example, Remo offers a wide range of interactive features directly within the platform, such as polls, A/V capabilities, and even quizzes. At the same time, it also provides a marketplace so organizers can connect with a variety of 3rd party entertainment providers to make their event stand out.

4. Customization and Branding Options

Personalization can elevate a virtual party from good to great. The ability to customize event spaces not only makes it memorable, but also adds a fun touch to your party. For example, at a corporate gathering, you can customize the space with your company branding or at a social event, you can host it at a virtual bar.

When it comes to customization, our motto is the more, the better. With more customization, you can make your virtual party your own and guarantee it’s the party no one forgets (in a good way!). So, look for platforms that allow customization of the backgrounds, layouts, colors, or even the party venue itself.

5. Scalability and Performance

Virtual parties come in all shapes and sizes. So, it’s imperative that the platform hosting it can also scale up or down reliably to accommodate. That means, small or large, the party experience remains equally good for all attendees (high-quality audio and video streaming, low latency, and fast load times, just to name a few important considerations).

The best virtual party platforms, like Remo, can scale to meet the needs of large gatherings without compromising on quality or performance. Its strong infrastructure can provide full-HD audio and video streaming, so every toast, speech, and performance is presented as it was meant to be experienced by attendees  – in the best quality.

When discussing performance, it’s also important to briefly touch on support if you ever face technical issues like these. You want to find a virtual platform that gives you the confidence to host your party without worrying about guests who can’t join or hear. So, remember to take a look at the support they offer at varying price tiers, specifically whether they offer live chat support for urgent issues during a live event.
